| Journal of a Non-Dieter |
Welcome to the new Journal of a Non-Dieter website! A lot of our content has changed, so please look around! You'll find all new links, reviews, updated restaurant information, and even a useful little download. Enjoy
I'm an avid fan of the Weight Watchers 123 program. However, I can't stand being forced to go to regular meetings and weigh-ins. It just makes the whole ordeal that much more un-fun. Luckily, we have the Internet. Thanks to the Web, I can find just about any information I could possibly need in order to follow the Weight Watchers program. The only thing that stinks is having to go to twenty different websites for information. Enter me, the clever girl who plans to put everything onto one website!
Just a word about my non-dieting philosophy -
I've had trouble with my weight since I was in elementary school. I tried various different diets that involve depriving yourself of food that you love. No chocolate, no milk, no sugar, no fat, no bread, no salt.. the list just goes on and on. The most I was ever able to stay on one of those diets was three weeks. I just enjoy eating too much. So, why not try to eat healthier, follow a diet.. err.. non-diet where you can eat junkfood if you want, and hey, even if I slip up, what's the big deal? I know I won't be able to eat healthier if I forbid myself to eat any kind of sweets or junkfood. So I'm setting myself up for success. With Weight Watchers, I can have a fudgesicle, or an ice cream sandwich, so long as I eat the right kind and in moderation. I can eat less during the week, so we can go out to eat on the weekend. So far, I'm finding it incredibly easy to follow. Of course, my only problem is that I need to exercise more. Ah well. We can't have it all.
How to Use This Site:
On the main points page, you'll find a table. It lists weight ranges on the left and points ranges on the right. Find your current weight range on the left, then aim to stay within the points range given. It's as easy (or hard) as that. As you lose weight, you'll drop into lower weight and points ranges.
Please keep in mind that the Weight Watchers information is for the old 123 Success plan. The current plans that Weight Watchers offers are slightly different and the points values I list for certain foods may be different for newer plans. That doesn't mean that this plan won't work--Weight Watchers is a profitable company above all else, and they need to keep reinventing themselves to keep making money.
Please check out my blog if you have time! It's great to be able to support each other.. I welcome your comments and questions! You can also email me at ferrets@quiddity.cc.
